Laibe Corporation was founded in 1962 by Alden "Al" Laibe, originally selling well drilling tools and supplies, and a distributor for Cyclone drilling rigs (which became Ingersoll Rand). Mark Laibe joined the company in 1972 and after many years learning all aspects of the business and industry, started the Versa-Drill brand in 1989. Jim Hopkins joined the company in 1999 in sales and quickly rose to the rank of President and CEO. It was Al's vision, Mark's leadership and Jim's innovation that vaulted Laibe Corporation to the worldwide industry leader they are today. Martin Wright joined the company in 2008 after having been the company's outside CPA for over 10 years. The future looks bright as Marcus Laibe (third generation) is set to join the company in 2010.
